About
KP Dermatology
KP Dermatology is a skin care, aesthetics and laser centre in Thane West. We provide medical dermatology — the diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair and nail disease — together with dermatologic aesthetics and laser procedures.
The clinic is led by Dr. Prratyush More, MBBS, DDVL, Dermatologist, Venereologist & Leprologist. All consultations, diagnoses, treatment planning and procedures are carried out by him or under his direct supervision. His training includes a specialised programme in Israel under Dr. Alex Ginzburg.
KP Dermatology is one of three clinics run by Dr. More in Thane West. Laser hair reduction is provided at Pristine Radiance, and hair loss treatment and hair transplantation at Roots Restore.
― OUR APPROACH
A Medical Clinic That Also Does Aesthetics
A great deal of what is offered under the heading of “skin treatment” is delivered without a diagnosis — a facial for acne, a peel for pigmentation, a laser for whatever the patient has asked for. KP Dermatology works the other way round. Every patient is examined and given a diagnosis first, and the procedure follows from the diagnosis rather than from the request. This is not a formality — conditions that look alike routinely require opposite management:
Facial Redness
Rosacea, seborrhoeic dermatitis, contact dermatitis or damage from an unprescribed steroid cream can all look alike. Each needs different management — treating one as another makes it worse.
Melasma
Treated with the wrong laser settings, melasma can darken rather than lighten, sometimes lastingly. Settings are selected only after diagnosis and skin-phototype assessment.
“Acne” on the Back or Chest
This is frequently fungal folliculitis, which does not respond to acne treatment at all.
Hair Fall
A symptom with many causes — some self-limiting, some progressive, and some, the scarring alopecias, permanently destructive if missed.
The clinic invests in diagnosis accordingly: dermoscopy, digital trichoscopy, Wood’s lamp examination, patch testing, laboratory investigation and biopsy where the diagnosis is uncertain.

How Treatment Is Planned
A written plan is provided for every patient, setting out the anticipated number of sessions, intervals and follow-up schedule. Limitations are stated at the outset, not afterwards: melasma is controlled, not cured, and recurs; acne scarring improves in grades but does not disappear; non-surgical tightening is not equivalent to surgery.

Diagnosis
History, examination and diagnostic assessment, with investigation where clinically indicated — before any procedure is discussed.

Staging
Sequence often determines outcome. Active acne is controlled before scar revision; melasma is stabilised with photoprotection and medical therapy before any laser.

Most conditions seen here need more than one modality. Our equipment was selected to make that combination possible, rather than to fit every patient to one platform.

The FDA-cleared Candela PicoWay® is a picosecond-domain laser in clinical use at KP Dermatology for pigment and scar treatment.
Unlike older, heat-based lasers — which can cause pain, downtime, and trigger conditions like melasma — the PicoWay® delivers ultra-short picosecond pulses that fragment unwanted pigment largely by a photoacoustic rather than a photothermal mechanism, without damaging surrounding tissue. Why These Particular Systems

Dr. More leads KP Dermatology and carries out all consultations, diagnoses, treatment planning and procedures here, or supervises them directly. His practice covers medical dermatology, dermatologic aesthetics, laser procedures and hair restoration. In 2018 he trained in Israel under Dr. Alex Ginzburg in hair loss treatment and hair transplant surgery.

What to Expect
Before Your Visit
Bring previous prescriptions and investigation reports, and a list of everything currently applied to your skin, including unprescribed creams, fairness products and home remedies. Attend without makeup if the concern is facial.
Timelines
Most dermatological treatment takes weeks to months to show effect. Procedures relying on collagen remodelling, including microneedling and fractional laser, develop over three to six months.
Chronic Conditions
Acne, eczema, psoriasis, melasma, rosacea and vitiligo are chronic and relapsing. Treatment aims at control and prevention of recurrence rather than permanent cure, and follow-up is often long-term.
Individual Variation
Response differs according to diagnosis, duration and severity, skin type, age, general health and adherence to advice. No outcome can be assured in advance.
A Note on Unprescribed Creams
Steroid-containing and fairness creams sold without prescription are a frequent cause of skin damage seen at this clinic, including steroid-induced rosacea, skin thinning, rebound pigmentation and resistant fungal infection. If you are using any such product, bring it with you to your consultation.
